Catching Up on February

Jim Dowdle of American Family Insurance sheds a tear as the motorcade for 1st Lt. David Johnson of Mayville moves along Sumner St. in Hartford on Friday morning. Visitations will be held Saturday and Sunday at Mayville High School. Johnson was killed in action in Afghanistan in January.


DOT-Public-Information-Meeting-004

Grace Hansen of Richfield reads over information of proposed changes to highway 164 during the DOT Public Information Meeting at Richfield Village Hall in Richfield on Thursday evening. The Department of Transportation (DOT) is planning on expanding Highway 164 into four lanes. Hansen has lived in Richfield for the past 65 years. " I think they should junk it," said Hansen.

Owner of Tally Ho Pub and Grill Chas Hastings stands next to what could be a potential burial ground in the basement of the bar in Hartford on Tuesday afternoon. Hastings and other employees have had many encounters with ghosts in the bar and grill. Instances include knives falling off walls without being disturbed, foot-walking noises after the bar has been closed among other occurrences.

Decorah Elementary principal Nan Lustig hangs from the wall in the cafeteria covered in duck tape at Decorah Elementary School in West Bend on Friday afternoon. Students could buy one piece of duck tape for one dollar. Proceeds  from the event went to Pennies for Patients.
